Albertson Stew Fest Saturday

ALBERTSON -- Duplin County's only private library will hold its annual Stew Fest Saturday, with proceeds going to buy new books and support the facility.
Activities begin at 9 a.m. at the Grady-Outlaw Memorial Library at the intersection of N.C. 111 and N.C. 903. The library is manned entirely by volunteers and funded by donations.
The event features competitions for best soup, best chile and best stew, with entries served from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Cost is $5. In addition to the entries, there will be hot dogs and baked goods and a country store. There will be a horseshoe tournament and games for children.
Also, there will be music provided by several groups.
