Mount Olive College professors are combining efforts to expand opportunities for North Carolina businesses, both home and abroad.
During the recent fall break, five professors led by Dean Ken Stokes traveled to Mexico to attend a workshop focusing on economic development. The MOC professors presented new strategies for development and the importance of corporations and public institutions in regional economic development.
Stokes was also invited to meet personally with Mexican officials, including their governor, to discuss an advisory role of the Tillman School of Business in the development process of the state of Yucatan, Mexico.
A reciprocal visit to North Carolina was also discussed, with the Mexican governor and minister of education expressing the possibility of accepting an invitation that was extended by state Rep. Van Braxton.
