FREMONT -- A 60-year-old Fremont man is being held without bond on Virginia charges of aggravated sexual battery and taking indecent liberties with a child, authorities say.
Richard Weyland Yarbrough, 60, of Airport Road, Fremont, was arrested on two fugitive warrants Tuesday morning, Wayne County Sheriff's Captain Tom Effler said.
The alleged victim was older than the age of 13, Effler said, but the captain did not have more information about the victim or charges.
Hanover County Sheriff Public Information Officer Chris Whitley confirmed the victim is a juvenile, but would not release her age.
"These things are very sensitive," Whitley said. "The details of that are contained within the investigation, and that will be forthcoming at the appropriate time in court."
The Hanover County Sheriff's Office spokesman said he also could release no details about the relationship between the child and Yarbrough.
Yarbrough was served at his home with two fugitive warrants at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report filed at the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
The native of Huntington, W.Va., had the warrants issued against him in Hanover County Va. on Monday, according to the arrest report.
Hanover County court officials said they would not have paperwork related to the case until Yarbrough is extradited to Hanover County to face the charges.
A call to Yarbrough's Airport Road home went unanswered.
