Student charged
A Goldsboro High School student faces charges for threatening a teacher Wednesday afternoon, police said. Tramaine Surrette, 17, of Courtyard Circle, threatened a teacher and attempted an assault before being subdued, according to an investigator's report. Police said when they arrived, Surrette was cursing and still threatening the teacher in the principal's office. He was taken to a magistrate's office, where he continued cursing the officer and the victim, police said. He was held in contempt of court for 30 days and faces charges of assault on school personnel, communicating threats, and disorderly conduct. He was jailed under $10,000 bond.
Car break-ins
Goldsboro police reported four residential car thefts that all happened within a few hours Tuesday night. Vehicles at homes on Amherst Road, Central Heights Road, Courtney Road and Mimosa Park were broken into, police said. About $900 in goods and cash were stolen and about $950 worth of smashed windows and damaged car doors were reported.
Home shot into
Alpha Warren of Bunche Drive reported a single gunshot was fired into the family's home early Tuesday morning, Goldsboro police said. The incident caused $210 in damage, but no one was hurt, investigators reported.
Thefts investigated
*Durwin Newsom of WAGES on Royall Avenue reported that four vehicle fuel lines were cut and $378 in gasoline was stolen from eight vehicles in the parking lot, Goldsboro police said.
*Carla Williams of South George Street reported that a red moped worth $1,500 was stolen from her backyard.
