MOUNT OLIVE -- Two Carver Elementary School students have been chosen to sing in the N.C. Music Educators "Elementary Honors Chorus" next month.
Elizabeth Vaughan, a fifth-grader, and Zachary Price, a fourth-grader, were chosen from more than 450 students across the state who applied to be part of the chorus.
On Sunday, Nov. 11, they will join more than 150 elementary students in Winston-Salem to sing during the Music Educators of North Carolina Convention.
Conductor Lynell Joy Jenkins will work with the chorus on six musical arrangements, including "Sing dem Herm," "Psalm 23" and "Water is Wide."
The chorus will perform at noon at the Stevens Center in downtown Winston-Salem.
This is the third year in a row that Carver has been represented in the honors chorus, said Lavone Hicks, music teacher at Carver Elementary.
