Dog dragged by car
A woman reported her boyfriend tied her dog to the back of a Buick Regal and dragged the animal along Highland Avenue around 11 p.m. Sunday, police said. Trucker Kevin Collier Posey, 20, North Drive, is charged with larceny of a dog and cruelty to an animal, the Wayne County Sheriff's Department said. Posey was jailed under $2,500 bond, police said.
Assault
A man accused of cutting a neighbor with a box cutter on Sunday evening faces charges, the Wayne County Sheriff's Department said. John Ray McDonald, Jr., 46, Timothy Street, Dudley, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and was jailed under $5,000 bond. The 6:30 p.m. attack on Timothy Street left David Jerome Hester suffering from severe lacerations, Deputy C.R. Shaeffer said.
