Emma See of Raleigh swept the junior market hog show at the Wayne Regional Agricultural Fair Friday, earning two blue ribbons before being named grand champion of the event.
The 12-year-old, whose grandfather raises pigs, said she has been showing pigs for seven years. She also shows sheep and goats.
She won the Wayne County fair contest with her show pig, "Bubbles," a Yorkshire Hampshire Cross, first for showmanship in her division and then market class in the 254- to 263-pound category.
Other winners in the local competition included Tyler Sharp of Sims, reserve grand champion, and Ryan Blalock of Lucama, showmanship winner for ages 14 to 19.
