Drug arrests
The Wayne County Sheriff's Department reported a number of drug-related arrests between Wednesday and Friday of last week.
*Two Mount Olive men were arrested Friday last week after a drug investigation in the area of Walnut and Bright streets in Goldsboro, Wayne County Sheriff's Maj. George Raecher said. Gary L. Edmonds, 53, Kelly Springs Road, was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, Raecher said. Bond was set at $1,500. Anthony Juan Davis, 36, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, Raecher said, and was released on written promise to appear.
*Demetrius Worrells, 21, of Argo Street, was charged after authorities watched him make a transaction involving marijuana worth $200 on the street, Raecher said. Worrells was charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana and resist, obstruct or delay official business, Raecher said. Bond was set at $40,000.
*Police found 27 grams of cocaine after pulling over Kristopher Douglas Battle, 28, of East Pine Street, for a minor motor vehicle traffic violation, Raecher said. The cocaine was worth an estimated $5,400 on the street, the major said. Battle was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled drug, Raecher said. Bond was set at $20,000.
*Lenoir County and Wayne County narcotics officials collaborated in an investigation leading to the arrest of Larry Darnell Kinsey, 27, of Country Run Lane, Raecher said. Police seized $1,500 in cocaine and marijuana from Kinsey at the time of his arrest, Raecher said. Kinsey is charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, fleeing to elude arrest, resist, obstruct or delay official business, fictitious information, felonious possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, Raecher said. Bond was set at $150,000.
