Imani celebration Friday

Rebuilding Broken Places CDC will observe its 4th Annual Imani Celebration and Wall of First induction Friday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. at the Greenleaf Vision of Faith Community Center at 2105 N. William St.
Events leading up to the celebration include a "financial literacy" workshop tonight from 7 until 8:30 at Greenleaf Vision of Faith Community Center. It is being sponsored by First Citizens Bank.
Also, on Wednesday, two workshops will be held at Greenleaf Christian Church. The first, led by the Rev. William Barber, will focus on the evolution of hip-hop music and "What and what not to listen to." The second will focus on "Why we must fight for our children." It will be led by Keith Howard of Legal Aid of North Carolina.
Friday's events will feature the inclusion of the first minority teachers at Goldsboro High School into the Wall of First. There also will be a "Night of Expressions," featuring Mother Spirit.
Tickets for the Friday event are on sale for $25. No tickets will be sold at the door.
