The Wayne County Public Library will feature a program on autism by Anne Barnhill Thursday at 7 p.m. in the main branch on Ash Street.
Mrs. Barnhill has written a book, "At Home in the Land of Oz: Autism, My Sister and Me." The book is a memoir of growing up with an autistic sister, Rebecca, in a time when the condition was greatly misunderstood.
The book has received favorable reviews from such North Carolina authors as Clyde Edgerton and Fred Chappell.
After the presentation, Mrs. Barnhill will have books to sell and will talk with audience members about how autism affected her life.
