Missing man found dead

A man reported missing from Kinston was found dead of natural causes in a hotel room, police said. Goldsboro police were called to check on a room at the Irish Inn on Sunburst Drive, police said. David Allen Stocks, 60, of Cobblestone Road, Kinston, was found dead in the room, police said. Foul play was not suspected, and there will be no further investigation, police said.

Assault

Wayne County sheriff's deputies responded at about 2 a.m. Saturday to a call on Bridgers Road in Princeton where they found Jose Maurico Leon-Cruz, 19, and Roberto Carlos Reyes-Rodri-guez, 27, of Raleigh, bleeding from cuts in their heads. Rodriguez also suffered cuts on his arm. They reported that an unknown Hispanic man had attacked them with a glass bottle. They were transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital by the Wayne County EMS for treatment. No arrests have been made.

Theft

Tony Alan Bowler, 27, of Carraway Drive reported to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office Friday that he had discovered on Tuesday that more than $8,000 worth of money, electronics and sports paraphernalia and collectibles were stolen from his girlfriend's Old Grantham Road residence. The items were last known secured on Sunday. No arrests have been made, though there is a suspect.
