Storm chaser to speak at MOC

MOUNT OLIVE -- A renowned storm chaser will speak at Mount Olive College next month on strategies needed to create disaster resilient communities.
Dr. Eddy Weiss, an emergency management expert, will speak Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. in the Southern Bank Auditorium in W. Burkette and Rose M. Raper Hall.
Weiss is a member of the National Storm Spotters and Storm Chasers Association. His lecture, "Rebuilding America's Foundation", will journey into the origins of vulnerability to disasters and how to rebuild the social, spiritual, and infrastructural fabric of communities in the face of ever growing threats from disasters of all kinds.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
