Suspect arrested
Goldsboro police arrested a teen who allegedly broke into a home at 607 N. Pineview Ave and stole nearly $300 in property. All of the property has since been recovered. Derman Murchison, 16, of Aycock Street, was charged with breaking and entering, larceny, possession of stolen goods and resisting arrest in the case. Murchison is being held in the Wayne County Jail under $35,000 secured bond.
Thefts
*Myreon Jamie Artis reported someone broke into his green 1998 Ford Contour while parked outside his home in the 100 block of Cambria Lane and stole $200 cash and his $25 check received from his work as a drum player at Union Grove Baptist Church.
*Kirby Christopher Gurley reported someone broke into his home in the 300 block of Sleepy Hollow road, Fremont, and stole an assault rifle with a 10-round magazine and a VCR, all valued at $1,545.
