Dant to be promoted to colonel

Goldsboro native Lt. Col. Daniel "Danny" Dant was recently selected two years "below the zone" for promotion to colonel by the United States Air Force.
Dant currently leads the 4th Space Con-trol Squad-ron at Hollo-man Air Force Base, N.M. The unit's mission is to provide offensive counterspace capabilities in support of U.S. Strategic Command and theater commanders.
Dant is a 1986 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School.
He graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor's degree in political science, magna cum laude. He also holds masters degrees from Webster University, George Washington University and the Air University.
Dant is married to the former Diana Richardson, also an Eastern Wayne graduate. They have two daughters.
