MOUNT OLIVE -- Dr. Phillip Hamilton and Dr. Sandra Jane Maddox have joined Mount Olive College as part of the new leadership team in the Lois G. Britt Agribusiness Center. Hamilton is serving as the center director and Maddox is associate director.

Hamilton has 25 years experience in agribusiness. He currently serves as an advisor for the student section of the American Agricultural Economics Association and assists with the academic quiz bowl for undergraduate students. He has also served as a member of the National FFA Agriculture Sales Committee.

In his new role, he will direct academic, outreach and development activities for undergraduates and agri-businesses, including production agriculture in eastern North Carolina.

Dr. Maddox will hold dual roles as associate director of the Agribusiness Center and assistant professor of agribusiness. She will also assist in student development, teaching and agribusiness development.

Dr. Kenneth Stokes, dean of the business school at MOC, said they will bring "a breadth of disciplinary knowledge and a welcome global perspective that is consistent with the college's strategic interest, but also usefully aligned with the strategic initiatives currently under way."
