Computer classroom at MOC named after Quinn family

A computerized classroom at Mount Olive College has been named after some of its long-time supporters.
Named in honor of the Milford S. and Reba S. Quinn of Duplin County, the classroom has 24 workstations and a state-of-the-art instructor Sympodium, with a tablet computer and a document camera. Another feature was special anti-glare lighting, installed to make extended viewing of the computer screens easier on the eyes.
For years, Quinn owned and operated Quinn Wholesale Company of Warsaw, bringing it from a small country store of a pre-eminent food distributor. He sold the company to Scrivner in 1986, but continues to operate Quinn Farms. He is also a former director of Carrolls Foods, Inc. and one of the primary organizers of the Independent Grocers of America.
Mrs. Quinn was a teacher and the couple was credited with supporting many of the college's major building initiatives over the years, including Kornegay Arena, Moye Library, the John Neal Walker Tennis Center, and the recent New Century Capital Campaign.
