RALEIGH -- The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission has re-elected the chairman and vice-chairman to continue to lead its governing board.

Wes Seegars of Goldsboro will remain as chairman and Steve Windham of Winnabow as vice chairman for the next two years.

Both men first assumed their positions on Aug. 30, 2006 when then-vice chairman Seegars was unanimously elected to fill the unexpired term of Chairman John E. Pechmann, who died unexpectedly the previous month. The commission then unanimously elected Windham to fill Seegars' unexpired term as vice chairman.

The 19-member commission establishes policies and regulations governing hunting, fishing and boating activities in North Carolina.

Members serve until reappointed or replaced. Appointments are made by the governor, the speaker of the state House and the president pro-tem of the state Senate.

Seegars is president of Seegars Fence Co., which has its headquarters in Goldsboro. He and his wife, Jacque, have two sons, Ben and John, and a daughter, Sallie Batchelor.

Windham is owner of Windham Distributing in Wilmington.
