Carver alumni gather this weekend

MOUNT OLIVE -- The Carver High School Alumni & Friends Association will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary this weekend.
Activities started Thursday with a golf tournament at the Southern Wayne Country Club and the Youth Night at Carver Elementary School.
Today, they continue with an Alumni Recognition Banquet at 6 p.m. at the Murphy Center at Mount Olive College.
On Saturday, events will include a parade that starts at 10 a.m., with a picnic following on the old Carver High School campus and a social at 9 p.m. at the Dillard Alumni Cultural Center in Goldsboro. The parade will start at the Mount Olive Fire Department and proceed south on Center Street, turn right onto Pollock Street to Breazeale Avenue, then left on Breazeale and south back to the school.
On Sunday, attendees will have a prayer breakfast at 9 a.m. at Northeast Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church.
