MOC professor named to national FBLA board

MOUNT OLIVE -- Sonya McCoy O'Brien has recently been elected to the National Board of Directors for FBLA-PBL, or Future Business Leaders of America -- Phi Beta Lambda.
Assistant professor in the management and human resources department at Mount Olive College, Mrs. O'Brien has been a part of the college's PBL chapter for 23 years. She has also served on the state awards program committee.
"This will provide me opportunities to share my experiences as a local chapter adviser with the national office and board and to serve as a liaison to all the southern region chapters that I will represent," she said.
Her three-year term as the southern region local advisor becomes official after the National Leadership Conference in Chicago later this month.
Phi Beta Lambda provides opportunities for students to enhance their self-confidence and leadership skills, sharpen public speaking skills, build friendships, apply money management techniques, network with business leaders, and acquire job readiness skills. The Phi Beta Lambda national organization is operated in cooperation with the United States Office of Education, the American Vocational Association, and the National Business Education Association.
