Stabbing
Tavaris Whitfield told Wayne County sheriff's deputies that he was stabbed in the arm today while breaking up a fight on Pecan Road. Whitfield, 17, of Carolina Street, declined to identify the suspects. He also declined to press charges. Whitfield was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Assault
Tellas Toomer told Goldsboro police officers that someone he knew walked into his father's yard Wednesday in the 700 block of Virginia St., and attacked him. Toomer said he jumped in to defend his father. However, the suspect punched him in the mouth and knocked out one tooth. Several other teeth were also damaged in the assault, according to the report. The suspect was identified, however, no arrests were made.
Accident
Michael Edward Jones II, 18, of Hillcrest Drive, was injured in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday on Oak Forrest Road when his Ford ran off the road, struck a ditch and embankment and went airborn for 18 feet. The vehicle came to rest in pinestraw and shrubs located at 311 N. Oak Forrest Road. Damage to the shrubs was listed at $100. Damage to Jones' vehicle was set at $3,500. Jones was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment. His injuries were not deemed lifethreatening.
Investigations
*Carol Wooten reported someone broke into her home in the 1700 block of Beech Street June 5 and stole an X-Box and video games, all valued at $530.
*Robert Lee Wooten reported someone broke into his home in the 900 block of Emmaus Church Road, Dudley, and stole a 27-inch flat screen TV and tennis shoes, all valued at $279.
*Someone broke into the Nahunta Volunteer Fire Department, 3053 Nahunta Road, Pikeville, Tuesday and stole a generator, valued at $1,200.
*Paula Tyson reported someone stole a laptop computer, 1993 Goldsboro High School class ring and mountain bike, all valued at $2,099.
