Police hunt for murder suspect

One man is in custody and another man remains at large in a shooting Tuesday on Olivia Lane that left a Fayetteville man dead.
Everette Mclean, 26, of Elm Street, was arrested today on one count of murder in connection with the shooting death of 22-year-old Antron Demon Hines of Chandler Street.
Another suspect identified as Deon Jerrill Mclean, 22, is still being sought by the Goldsboro Police Department.
Goldsboro police res-ponded to the 800 block of Olivia Lane at about 7 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Hines lying in the yard between 803 and 805 Olivia Lane suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, Goldsboro police spokesman Sgt. Chad Calloway said.
Goldsboro Fire Depart-ment and Wayne County Emergency Medical Services personnel also responded. EMS transported Hines to Wayne Memorial Hospital. He was pronounced dead on arrival, officials said.
Tuesday's murder marks the 10th murder in Wayne County this year.
Police went to work after the shooting in search of possible suspects and witnesses. During their investigation, they developed Everette Mclean and Deon Mclean as suspects and obtained warrants for their arrests.
Everette Mclean was reportedly combative with police as he was led into the Wayne County Magistrate's Office early this morning. Additional officers showed up at the office to control the situation, officials said.
A motive for the shooting had not been identified. However, Hines was currently out on bond for allegedly shooting Robert Lee Mitchell II, 22, of Kornegay Street, in the face with a large caliber weapon Jan. 5.
Mitchell was driving north in the 500 block of Slocumb Street when Hines allegedly stood in the street and opened fire on him, police said.
Mitchell also told police that Hines had robbed him in the parking lot at Express Food Mart, 518 E. Elm St. on Dec. 23.
Meanwhile, the hunt for Deon Mclean continues.
