Wayne County Public Schools' newest high school, The Wayne School of Engineering, to be housed within Goldsboro High School, will hold open house on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
Gary Hales, principal, said the event will be an opportunity for parents and students to see the facilities, ask questions, and learn more about the curriculum, as well as the school's vision and mission.
In its first year, the school will only take rising freshmen ready to complete a high school career immersed in science, technology, engineering and math. Officials said 100 students will be accepted. A few openings remain and parents are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible.
