PIKEVILLE -- The Town of Pikeville is looking for a police officer to fill a vacancy created when an officer joined the Wayne County Sheriff's Office last month.
The town currently has several part-time and two full-time officers, including Chief Ken Barrett.
Although there is only one full-time position open on the police force, Barrett said the town is considering hiring more part-time officers.
The town is still accepting applications at Town Hall, which is located at 112 S.W. Railroad St.
For more information, call the Pikeville Town Hall at 242-5126.
