Fire
Shelton D. Southerland Sr. told Wayne County sheriff's deputies Tuesday that someone set fire to his home at 539 Billy Price Road, Seven Springs. The fire damaged a portion of the home, three vehicles and other items, officials said. Damage was set at $140,000. The fire was ruled suspicious, Wayne County Sheriff's Capt. Tom Effler said. A suspect is being sought in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call the Wayne County Sheriff's Office at 731-1007 or Goldsboro-Wayne Crime Stoppers at 735-2255.
Break-ins
*Tommy Bert Price told Wayne County sheriff's deputies on Tuesday that someone entered his unlocked barn in the 1600 block of Old Grantham Road and stole two drills, sander, saw and other power tools, all valued at $665.
*Justin A. Wilson told Goldsboro police Monday that someone broke into his home in the 100 block of Spearwood Drive and stole a laptop computer, valued at $998, from his home.
