ECU teacher program at WCC accepting applications

The East Carolina University teacher education program at Wayne Community College is accepting applications for its next bachelor's degree cohorts.
ECU Wachovia Partnership East South Central Consortium applications are due now for the elementary education cohort that begins in August. They are available from Dr. Debbie Hall Grady, hub site coordinator, at the Wayne Community College office in room 102 of the Dogwood Building, or by contacting her at gradyde@waynecc.edu or 735-5151, ext. 385.
Classes begin in January for a new special education-general curriculum online cohort through the Wachovia Partnership East Virtual Consortium. Applications are due Oct. 1 for that degree program, which will be delivered totally online with required annual face to face sessions at a location to be determined.
The consortium will offer its next middle grades education with English and science concentrations beginning in May 2008, with applications due Jan. 1.

The consortium program, started at WCC in 2004, enables students from James Sprunt, Lenoir, Johnston, Sampson, and Wayne community colleges, Seymour Johnston Air Force Base, and the schools in Greene, Duplin, Lenoir, Johnston, Sampson, and Wayne counties to earn ECU bachelor's degrees in education without going to Greenville.
Students complete their general education coursework at one of the partnering community colleges and then transfer into the ECU program to complete the junior and senior years of the teaching degree in elementary, special education or middle grades math/science education.
