Alpha Phi Alpha banquet Saturday

The Theta Omicron Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity will host its 23rd annual scholarship and recognition banquet on Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 601 W. Elm Street.
Four scholarships will be presented to outstanding graduating seniors from Wayne County Public Schools and the "outstanding Alpha brother of the year" will be named.
Following a buffet dinner, entertainment will be provided by the Dillard Middle School choir and soloist Ahmad James of Mount Olive College.
Fred Shadding, Jr. of Greenbelt, Maryland, whose parents reside in Goldsboro, will be featured guest speaker for the evening.
An active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity since 1987, Shadding is vice-president of business development for CCT Marketing.
In 2005, Shadding was recognized by Black MBA Magazine as one of the "50 under 50" top black MBA executives in America under the age of 50.
The public is invited to attend. Suggested donation is $20 per person.
