The North Carolina Department of Transportation will hold a workshop on Thursday to present information and receive questions concerning the proposed widening on N.C. 41 to a multi-lane road.
The workshop, which will be held in the Wallace Elementary School cafeteria from 4-7 p.m., will feature general information on the project because detailed plans have not been prepared for the project.
The proposed 3.3-mile project would begin at N.C. 11 in Tin City and extend about two miles east of I-40. Since it is a widening project, it could require the acquisition of right-of-way and may involve the relocation of homes and businesses.
Residents and concerned citizens are encouraged to attend any time during the three-hour workshop. Wallace Elementary School is located at 4266 N.C. 11 South in Wallace.
