Shooting

Goldsboro police are investigating a shooting that left a Goldsboro man injured Wednesday night.

Antonio Kelvin McLean, 22, of Central Heights Road, was reportedly hanging out in the 600 block of East Elm Street at 8 p.m. when someone drove by in a white Dodge pickup truck and fired three shots, according to a Goldsboro police report.

One of the bullets struck McLean in his left knee. He was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.

The unknown assailant drove off heading east on Elm Street, police said.

Copper theft

Investigators of the Walnut Creek Police Department are investigating copper wire theft at a construction site on Dobbs Place in the Village of Walnut Creek and they are asking for the public's help. Someone cut $4,500 worth of copper wiring out of the building at the site sometime between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday. Anyone with information is asked to call the Walnut Creek Police Department at 778-9991 or Goldsboro-Wayne Crime Stoppers at 735-2255. Callers can remain anonymous and could receive up to $1,000 cash if their information leads to a felony arrest.
