issue multiple
traffic citations
Officers of the Goldsboro Police Department took to the streets last week in search of speeders, drunken drivers and other violators during the "No Need 2 Speed" traffic enforcement campaign.
During the campaign, which kicked off April 2 and wrapped up on Easter Day, police issued 371 citations including 173 for speeding; 10 for driving while intoxicated; 21 for driving while license revoked; seven for seat belt violations; two for child passenger safety violations; 12 for drug violations; two for uninsured motorists and two for reckless driving, Capt. John Biggins said.
Police also issued 28 citations for other criminal violations and made three felony arrests during the traffic campaign.
Robbery
case solved
Goldsboro police charged a man accused of shoving a woman in her stomach and allegedly grabbing her wallet, which contained $200, out of her hand. Matthew Hunter Carr, 21, Page Drive, was charged with common law robbery in connection with the March 20 incident, Investigator Dwayne Dean said. At the time of his arrest, Carr was already in custody at the Wayne County Jail on unrelated charges. Carr was given an additional $10,000 secured bond and placed back in jail, Dean said.
