Goldsboro police are searching for a man who allegedly groped a 10-year-old girl at Kmart on Berkeley Boulevard last month and made sexually explicit remarks to the child.

Sgt. Dot Ardes, Goldsboro-Wayne Crime Stoppers law enforcement coordinator, said the incident happened around 6 p.m. on March 20 at the department store.

The girl later reported the incident to Goldsboro police, Sgt. Ardes said.

The victim identified the alleged suspect using the store's surveillance video. The suspect is described as a white male who is about 30 to 45 years old. The suspect has a heavy-set build and a mustache.

Based on a still taken from the security surveillance, the suspect was wearing a light-colored baseball cap and a jacket.

Anyone with information about the suspect's identity is asked to call Goldsboro-Wayne Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255. All callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 if the information provided leads to a felony arrest.
