Daffodil Festival Saturday in Fremont

Sunny skies and warm temperatures are expected for the 21st Annual Fremont Daffodil Festival to be held Saturday in downtown Fremont.
The event will be highlighted by concerts by The Embers and The Monitors, both starting at 1 p.m. on separate stages. The Charles B. Aycock High School Show Choir also will perform, starting at 10:15 a.m.
Horse-drawn trolley rides, arts and crafts exhibits and sales, and an exhibit by the Eastern Carolina Vintage Farm Equipment club will be part of the day's events, along with a "children's alley," that will include games, rides, remote controlled racing and a rock-climbing wall.
Drawings for prizes will be held and a commemorative daffodil postage stamp will be available at the Postal Service office from 8:30 a.m. until noon.
The fun starts at 10 .m. with opening ceremonies featuring the new Miss Daffodil and Little Miss Daffodil.
