MOC releases schedule for spring alumni event

MOUNT OLIVE -- Mount Olive College is planning a variety of events for its second annual Alumni Spring Fest Weekend scheduled for April 13-15.
While there are events for current and prospective students, the weekend is also a great opportunity for alumni from all the college locations to come together and interact, said Dianne Riley, director of alumni relations.
That Friday night, the MOC concert choir will perform at 8 p.m. in Raper Hall, with a reception beforehand for MOC society members.
Saturday's activities include the 5K Trojan Trot at 9 a.m. and a One-Mile Fun Run at 10 a.m. There will be a youth basketball clinic at 9:30, a men's soccer tournament at 11, men's and women's tennis matches at noon and softball and baseball games at 2 p.m. A cookout is planned for 11 a.m.
Prospective students can tour the campus, talk with the admissions staff and visit the campus bookstore during open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. At noon in the Lois K. Murphy Regional Center, Phi Beta Lambda will host its 50th Anniversary Luncheon Celebration for the its Zeta Epsilon Chapter.
Sunday will feature a student-led worship service beginning at 10 a.m. in Rodgers Chapel. At 2 p.m. the Trojan baseball and softball teams will compete against Pfeiffer and Fayetteville State.
