RALEIGH -- The Eastern North Carolina Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is hosting five MS Walks throughout eastern North Carolina in March and April to raise money for MS research and treatment.

The MS Walks will take place in Wilmington, Ply-mouth, Greenville, Fayette-ville and the Triangle.

"MS affects the lives of more than 10,000 people in North Carolina alone," said Bob Bryan, president of the Eastern North Carolina Chapter of the National MS Society. "The support of walkers and sponsors at our MS Walks move us closer to a world free of MS."

Walks will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will be held in the following areas:

*March 24 in the Triangle; location: The Imperial Center

*March 31 in Wilmington; location: Greenfield Lake Park

* March 31 in Plymouth; location: Flowers Park

*April 14 in Greenville; location: East Carolina University Stadium Complex;

*April 14 in Fayetteville; location: Honeycutt Park on April 14

Walkers are asked to enlist the help of sponsors to raise money for MS research and treatment.
