This early morning accident sent four people to Wayne Memorial Hospital. According to a state trooper on the scene, the dump truck was heading south on N.C. 581 when it ran off the right-hand side of the road, then came back onto the road crossing the center line and hitting the moving van head-on. Nahunta and Little River fire departments where dispatched to the scene. Department of Transportation officials said the road will would be shut down until the debris is removed. The names of the people involved in the accident were unavailable at press time.
