A second-grader at Brogden Primary School reportedly brought a kitchen knife to school, prompting an investigation and disciplinary action by authorities.
Ken Derksen, public information officer with Wayne County Public Schools, confirmed that the child showed the knife to another student, who in turn told the teacher. School officials investigated and found no malicious intent, Derksen said. Parents of the child were contacted and the Sheriff's Office notified.
The student will be disciplined per school board policy, Derksen said, and a letter was sent home to parents of students in the class.
