Drunken drivers
The Goldsboro Police Department, Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Mount Olive Police Department, Walnut Creek Police Department and military police from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base teamed up over the St. Patrick's Day holiday weekend to take drunken drivers off the streets.
Armed with a mobile home unit, which is used to test the blood alcohol level of suspected drunken drivers, police set up road checks on U.S. 117 South and Old Mount Olive Highway from Friday to Sunday.
During the Booze It or Lose It campaign, officers issued four citations for DWI; two for drug violations; one for child passenger seat violations; 16 for driving while license revoked; 76 for other traffic citations; and eight for other criminal offenses, Goldsboro police Capt. Mike West said.
