Workers with the North Carolina Department of Transportation Bridge Division have been working over the past several weeks to finish up a bridge replacement on Kelly Springs Road at the Wayne and Duplin county line, about three miles east of Mount Olive. The new structure is made out of aluminum and weighs about 26,000 pounds. Project superintendent Jimmy Marler said today's rain won't affect the construction schedule. Work should be finished by the end of the month, he said.
