The center corridor of Berkeley Mall is being converted into an art gallery this week to showcase work from hundreds of Wayne County's top art students.
The annual Wayne County Public Schools Art Exhibition is scheduled through the weekend. More than 1,100 exhibits in a multitude of art forms will be featured from students from kindergarten through the 12th grade. Several have already won local, state and national awards, officials said.
From March 18-25, student projects completed by math and science students in area middle and high schools will be featured.
Both of the events reflect the curriculum being taught in the school system and provide an opportunity to showcase the skills and abilities of the students, said Dr. Steven Taylor, schools superintendent.
