MOUNT OLIVE -- Mount Olive College will hold the 17th Annual Vivian B. Harrison Memorial Lecture on Tuesday, March 20, at 9:30 a.m. in Rodgers Chapel. This year's theme is "Discovering the Depths: Growing in the Spiritual Life."
The guest speaker will be Dr. William Clemmons, a native of Nashville, Tenn., who retired after 20 years of teaching theology. He holds a master's degree in formative spirituality from the Institute of Formative Spirituality at Duquesne University and an M.Div., M.R.E. and Ed.D from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. Clemmons has been the director of The Vineyard Conference and Retreat Center in Louisville, Ky., and co-director of "Horizons of the Spirit;" and director of the Grow Renewal Center in Lombard, Ill.
The lecture series was established by the Rev. Frank R. Harrison in memory of his late wife. Its purpose is to provide a medium for continuing education for the ministers and laypersons.
The lecture is free and the public is invited. A buffet lunch will be available in the Lois K. Murphy Regional Center for $5. For information, or to make lunch reservations, call Dr. David Hines at 658-6948 or email dhines@moc.edu.
