Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*Wayne County deputies are searching for a man accused of defrauding his own grandmother out of $8,000. An arrest warrant has been issued for Willie C. Yelverton Jr., 62, of Goldsboro for felony financial transaction card fraud, Wayne County sheriff's Deputy Sgt. R. Thomas Flores Jr. said.
Yelverton is wanted for allegedly committing about $8,000 in fraud over a period of several months against his 83-year-old grandmother, Flores said. After being confronted by family members, Yelverton left the home.
Yelverton is believed to be living with a female companion. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Wayne County Sheriff's Office at 731-1481 or Capt. George Raecher at 731-1482.
