Wayne County Sheriff’s Department is investigating these cases:

•Wayne County sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Robert Golimowski arrested Phillip Joseph Goff, 20, of Daw Pate Road, Pikeville, for breaking and entering and larceny after the fact. He was being held in the Wayne County Jail on a $10,000 bond. According to officials, Goff allegedly broke into several homes in the Patetown and Dudley communities and stole property. His arrest was the result of an ongoing investigation in which another suspect was also charged. Goff also was allegedly involved in predawn burglary on Vail Road in Pikeville that occurred Jan. 3. Detective Sgt. Carl Lancaster is in charge of the second case. More arrests are pending.

•Wayne County sheriff’s officials are investigating an arson fire that broke out in a wooden outbuilding owned by Ralph Ronald Griffin at 782 Sandhill Road, Dudley Feb. 7. The alleged culprits were unknown. The fire damaged a glass rear bay window, refrigerator and outbuilding. Damage was set at $4,300.
