MOUNT OLIVE -- The Mount Olive Rotary Club is planning another Cabin Fever Golf Tournament to help raise money for an endowment.
Club spokesman Patti O'Donoghue said earnings from the endowment would be used to provide funds for needy families in the local community. A committee is currently working to write the guidelines for distribution of the grants.
The tournament will be held March 16 at the Southern Wayne Country Club. A reception for sponsors and donors will be held on March 15 at Murphy's Grille .
The Cabin Fever committee meets every Wednesday morning.
Tee ads will be placed on the golf course, and Mrs. O'Donoghue said individuals and businesses are invited to sponsor tee ads.
Other opportunities to help with the effort include golf team sponsorships at diamond, platinum and gold levels. She said the tee ads are silver sponsorships, and "all donations and door prize gifts will be accepted and will be recognized in a follow-up newspaper ad."
Part of the fundraiser is a give-away, a Rolex watch, a diamond solitaire or a $5,000 shopping spree at Buddy's Jewelry. Buddy's Jewelry is the major sponsor of the tournament.
