AXA Advisors, LLC, the retail distribution subsidiary of AXA Financial, a leading financial services company, has announced the availability of the 2007 AXA Achievement Community Scholarship applications.
Each AXA Advisors branch office nationwide will be able to distribute up to twelve $2,000 scholarships to high school seniors who live and attend high school in its community.
The announcement was made by John Irwin, executive vice president of the company's Southern Division.
The scholarship is part of AXA Achievement, which provides resources that help make college possible: access and advise. Scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors. Winners, known as AXA Achievers, have demonstrated ambition and drive, determination to set and reach goals, respect for self, family and community, and the ability to succeed in college.
AXA Achievement is funded by the AXA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of AXA Advisors. Through AXA Achievement, AXA is one of the nation's largest corporate providers of scholarships and a comprehensive resource for information to help students and parents plan for college. The scholarship is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a program of Scholarship America, one of the nation's largest nonprofit private sector and educational support organizations.
"This program brings scholarship support into every community where AXA does business," said Ed Spence, AXA's local representative. "AXA Financial is about investments and we consider these scholarships an investment in young people and in our community."
The AXA Advisors Goldsboro branch is located at 1507 E. Ash St.
The deadline for applying for an AXA Achievement Community Scholarship is Feb. 16. All applications must be postmarked by that date. To obtain an application, call Ed Spence or Tracy Walston at 736-3866 or visit www.ed.spence.myaxa-advisors.com.
