Investigations

Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:

*Dana Logan Rice reported Jan. 27 someone shot at her home in the 100 block of Edgebrook Drive, Pikeville, damaging the exterior and a window. No injuries were reported. Damage was set at $700.

*Judy Marie Dowers reported Jan. 26 someone slashed eight tires at her home in the 1400 block of Old Grantham Road. The tires belonged to a black 2000 Ford Taurus. Damage was set at $900.

*Anthony Brooks Neel reported Jan. 25 someone kicked in the door to his home in the 400 block of Riverbend Road and stole a cell phone, two shotguns, a rifle, $5,000 cash and other items, all valued at $2,550.

*Maria Stansell reported Jan. 25 entered her home in the 200 block of Bridle Path Drive and stole an air compressor, golf clubs, a computer monitor, a shotgun and musical instruments, all valued at $8,085.

*Fredrick Brown Woolard Jr. reported Jan. 26 someone entered his home in the 100 block of Betty Drive and stole two handguns and a gun box, all valued at $718.

*Someone broke into Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 752 Stoney Creek Church Road, Jan. 28 and stole a 32-inch TV, laptop, checkbook, Sony PlayStation 2, Nintendo Wii and two X-Boxes, all valued at $3,829.

Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:

Timothy Detwaran Ashford told Goldsboro police that several people including two with guns approached him while he was standing outside of his motel room at Best Value Inn on U.S. 70 East early today. One of the suspects punched him in the mouth, snatched a gold necklace from his neck and ran. Some of the men left in a red Chevrolet Cavalier and the other left in a white Lincoln. The necklace was valued at $600.
