Investigations
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*William Hinson of Clinton reported the theft of a 1993 Dodge Dakota and a purse containing $40 cash and a driver's license from the 1000 block of Thunder Swamp Road on Monday.
*In the area of 100 Parkstown Road, LaGrange, Eleanor McCullen Leonard reported a break-in at a residence. Among the items taken were a computer, keyboard, amplifier, cell phone charger, computer desk, and jewelry box. A door and hallway wall were also damaged.
Goldsboro police are investigating the following reports:
*Two area Food Lion stores reported the theft of a quantity of DVDs on Monday. At the W. Grantham Street location, a white male allegedly filled up a shopping cart with 48 assorted DVD movies and ran from the store. The man, described as being 5'6" and approximately 300 pounds, was confronted by a store employee and fled in the direction of U.S. 70 West. The $480 worth of merchandise was recovered.
At the E. Ash Street store, a white man described as being approximately 5'8" and 175 pounds put approximately $120 worth of DVDs in a bag and left the store without paying. He fled in a vehicle.
*On the 700 block of Shelley Drive, Phyllis Jean Aiton reported someone entered her garage and removed a 2003 red Vespa scooter valued at $3,000 and a $200 blue Schwinn bicycle.
