Downtown speaker's forum planned for Tuesday

Morganton Mayor Mel Cohen will be the featured speaker Tuesday at noon at the Downtown Goldsboro Development Corp.'s Annual Speakers' Forum.
The forum, which is sponsored by the DGDC and the Wayne County Development Alliance, features one speaker each year to discuss the importance of downtown growth and its impact on a town or city.
Cohen is credited with investing in Morganton's downtown to develop it as the "front porch" to that community, which is located in the western part of the state in Burke County.
The presentation will be held in Courtroom No. 1 of the Wayne County Courthouse. The presentation is free and refreshments will be provided.
