Lee-Jackson banquet Jan. 20

The Goldsboro Rifles Camp, The Dr. B. T. Person Camp, The C. S. S. Ram Neuse Camp, the Pettigrew's Partisan Rangers, the Smithfield Light Infantry Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the the Harper House chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy will hold a Lee and Jackson Banquet on Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. at The Steak Barn on U.S. 70 west.
The event will commemorate the birthdays of Gens. Robert E. Lee and Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson.
Lee was born on Jan. 19 and Jackon on Jan. 21.
Guest speaker for the event will be Dr. John Peacock, professor of humanities and social sciences at Nash Community College. Entertainment will be provided by the The Carteret Grays from Jacksonville.
