Investigations
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*Jesse Lee Garner reported Friday morning that someone fired four gunshots into his home on the 100 block of Talbert Drive, causing $400 in damage.
*Goldsboro police charged a woman who allegedly stole property from Belk department store. Investigators Mike Moore and Chad Calloway arrested Susan Williams Paynter, 40, of Bell Road, Mount Olive, with embezzlement. Ms. Paynter, a former employee of Belk, is accused of stealing several Belk gift cards. She was being held in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $3,000 bond.
