Steven Arthur Hall told Goldsboro police that his wife, Martha Hall, struck him in the head with a golf club during an argument Sunday morning. Ms. Hall, 52, of N. Rudolph St., was charged with assault with deadly weapon inflicting serious injuries. Hall was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville. His condition was unavailable at presstime. Ms. Hall was being held at the Wayne County Jail without bond.
Accidents
*A Goldsboro woman was injured Saturday when a motorist drove over her foot on West Holly Street and failed to stop. Lashaunda Artis, 20, of N. Taylor Street, told police the driver of a late-model Pontiac Grand Am drove away before she could see a license number. She was treated and released at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
*A Goldsboro girl was hurt in an accident on Whitfield Drive Friday afternoon. Police said Teresa Ann Melvin, 45, of Miller Street, was driving with Ebony Alicia Williams, 11, on the hood of the car. When Ms. Melvin stopped, the girl fell off. She was treated and released at Wayne Memorial Hospital f Ms. Melvin was cited for careless and reckless driving.
