Clifton Britton's “The Shepherd’s Song” was performed on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon in Moffatt Auditorium at Wayne Community College. The play was originally written by Britton while a drama teacher at Goldsboro High School from 1942-1962. Hundreds of Goldmasquers gathered in Goldsboro over the weekend for a reunion and to pay tribute to “Mr. B”. On Friday evening, a cocktail party was held, during which time a painting of Britton was unveiled. Then, Saturday morning, a reunion reception was held at the college with an array of memorabilia on display from the Britton era. The Foundation of the college sponsored the weekend events, which drew hundreds of alumni from around the country.
